For Shell Motorport we produced the new Track laboratory unit.
This working area is built on a airfreight pallet since the transportation, from circuit to circuit, will be made with cargo airfreights.
The biggest challenge of the project is not visible: an extreme and careful attention to weight saving is the main target. We used bespoke honeycomb panels and lightweight paint only where needed.
Internal space is designed to have 3 technicians working at the same time on different instruments, with everything in the proper position.
Hidden below the cupboards we have the LAN distribution, power distribution and all safety precautions installed in the area
Laboratory interior is designed keeping functionality in mind, with all the tools at the proper distance and height.
Fire alarm, gas alarm, emergency exit are part of technical equipment.
We also impemented clever solutions for safe transportation and protection of surfaces when in transit.
One of the objective of the project was to use only sustainable materials.
We used sustainable fake leather, recycled material for the floor and a replacement for the carbon fiber, using natural fibers and resins to create lightweight composite materials.
